Another, other & others

Another

Significa "uno más o uno extra". Es un determinante que va antes de un sustantivo singular o incontable. Ejemplos: 

I need another notebook for my English classes. 

My little brother broke another cup of my mother dinner service. 

They will visit you in another moment. 

Another no se usa antes de un sustantivo en plural, a menos de que uses otro determinante como a few, a couple o un número específico. Ejemplos:

INCORRECT: My granpa wants to say another words.

CORRECT: My granpa wants to say another few words. 

INCORRECT: We will have another teachers next semester.

CORRECT: We will have another two teachers next semester. 

También es posible como pronombre singular y así evitar repetición de palabras, también puede usarse como another one:

A: Do like more sandwiches?

B: I'll just have another one.

A: Do you like more sandwiches?

B: I'll just have another.

Other

Significa otro u otros, como determinante lo podemos usar antes de un sustantivo singular incontable o plurales, observa:

I will think about it other time. (Singular uncountable )

I talked with other teachers. (Plural)

My family has other options. (Plural)

En este caso nunca lo usamos con forma plural:

INCORRECT: I bough others videogames.

CORRECT: I bought other videogames.

Cuando se usa antes de un sustantivo singular contable, es necesario agregar the antes de other:

The other teacher explains me the topic. (Singular countable)

The doctor give the other medicine. (Singular countable)

Other / others

Other se puede usar como pronombre, en ese caso sí tendrá forma plural. Normalmente se usa para evitar repetición de palabras y cuando queda claro de qué se habla. Ejemplos:

Some students are in the classroom, others are in the playground.

If you take this class, I'll take other.

American movies are great for me, I don't liked others.

También para sustituir al sustantivo podemos usar other one u other ones en vez de other y others respectivamente.

Some other ones will come tomorrow.

I found other one. 

I don't like this dog, I would like other one.

Para diferenciarlos con another one, recordemos que another one hace referencia a uno más similar mientras que other one y other ones a uno o varios diferentes al primero.

The other

Funciona como determinante y, como se mencionó arriba, the other va cumplir la función de other cuando se trate de sustantivos singulares contables, además de esto, se pueden usar para señalar el otro entre dos personas, cosas o lo opuesto de algo. Ejemplos: 

My girlfriend choose the other gift. (Singular uncountable) 

The other day I meet with Cristina. (Singular uncountable) 

En el caso de los plurales, no se cambia the other, y hace referencia a los "otros restantes". Observa:

She is studying English this semester and she will take the other classes next semester. 

My boooks are in my backpack, the other books are in the desk.

The other / The others

Funcionan como pronombres en forma singular (the other) o plural (the others) y se emplean en sustitución de un sustantivo cuando éste se ha mencionado previamente en la oración:

My English notebook is on the desk, the other is in my backpack.

These are my classmates, the others are just friend.

I'll take the black umbrella and you can take the other.
